Alan Vanderburgh
received his Bachelor of Law at the University of British Columbia and,
after practicing in Vancouver, moved to Williams Lake in 1961. He commenced
a law practice in partnership with Lee Skipp under the firm name Skipp
& Vanderburgh. After the appointment of Lee Skipp to the County Court
of Vancouver in 1973, Alan carried on with his practice under the name
Vanderburgh & Company. He has been actively involved with the community
since his arrival in Williams Lake, and has been a member of the Kiwanis
Club, the Williams Lake Golf & Tennis Club, of which he is a life
member, and was a founding member of the Cariboo Foundation. He served
as a bencher, the governing body of British Columbia lawyers, and was
made a life bencher in 2001. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in
1998. He is a past governor of the Law Foundation of British Columbia
and past president of the Cariboo Bar Association. His personal interests
are reading, golf, gardening and enjoying his many grandchildren. |
